What’s shaking: A quarter of highs

What a quarter. 

The summer was ablaze with new highs. Temperatures only Sean Paul could sing about. And all time highs for both bitcoin and ethereum.

But that’s not the only thing climbing to new momentum. At Shakepay, we’ve been building right alongside the market, rolling out new features that make funding faster, insights sharper, and even easier to accumulate bitcoin.

Big wins

Pre-authorized debit is here!

This quarter, your Shakepay account officially grew up — it can make mortgage payments now! 

With pre-authorized debit (PAD), you have the power to pay rent, mortgages, loans, and more directly from your Shakepay account.

The best part is it’s not just for bills — you can also use it to pull funds to your other bank accounts from Shakepay. 

Why this matters: No more logging in to transfer every time you want to buy. PAD makes it easier to stay consistent.

This was one of our most requested features, and it lays the groundwork for even more flexibility in how Canadians fund their Shakepay accounts.

Crypto insights

We also shipped crypto insights to give you a clear view of your crypto’s performance over time.

Why it matters: Now you can see your unrealized gains or losses, original cost and average price, and the credits and debits over the lifespan of your account. It’s a clear, easy-to-digest update right where you buy and sell. 

This new addition puts timely information in your hands, helping you make decisions with confidence in a fast-moving market.

Bitcoin-only mode

For the laser-eyed among us, we rolled out the orange carpet with Bitcoin-only mode.

This setting lets you filter Shakepay to show only bitcoin—streamlining your experience if that’s where your focus is.

Why it matters: Not everyone wants to see ether or think about market noise. In fact, for many, bitcoin is not just an investment; it’s the path to a better financial future. Bitcoin-only mode is our nod to that ethos by keeping things simple and aligned with your goals.  

Smaller, but mighty wins

• Personal/Business toggle: Switch between your personal and business accounts in-app. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.
• BTC + ETH price widgets: We made checking the charts as easy as checking the weather. iOS users can now track bitcoin and ether prices right from their home screen.
