Here's how it works:
- Set up direct deposit for your pay: To set up direct deposit, go to Add > Direct deposit in your Shakepay app. Download your void cheque or send your details directly to your employer by using the Share button.
- Get two payroll direct deposits of $1,000+: Receive two eligible payroll direct deposits in your Shakepay account between December 1st, 2025 and January 31st, 2026, and you’ll be entered to win one of 100 prizes of $100!
2. Get a 100% spread refund on auto-buys
Starting December 1st, your next three payroll auto-buys will come with a 100% spread refund.
Here's how it works:
- From the home screen, tap Add > Direct deposit.
- Scroll down to Auto-buy and set the dollar amount and currency you’d like to auto-buy on payday.
- We’ll add up the spread paid on your first three auto-buys between December 1st and January 31st and refund the full amount directly to your account in the first week of February, 2026.
Heads up! Only payroll direct deposits are eligible for auto-buys.
3. #shakepaid gets a big boost
You heard that right: For the whole month of December, we’re multiplying our direct deposit #shakepaid budget by 10. That means more chances to win a #shakepaid bonus of $25, $50, or even $100 on your paycheque, instantly.

What types of direct deposits are eligible for the rewards?
Eligible deposits include payroll direct deposits from your employer. Transfers from other financial institutions or government benefits are not eligible.
How do I get a spread refund on my auto-buys?
The spread on your first three auto-buys linked to eligible direct deposits in December and January will be automatically reimbursed in CAD directly into your Shakepay account in the first week of February, 2026.
Both new and existing payroll direct deposits are eligible for a 100% spread refund on up to three auto-buys.
How do the #shakepaid prizes work?
Every eligible payroll deposit you receive in December 2025 gives you a chance to earn a $25, $50, or $100 #shakepaid prize, paid instantly when your pay is deposited.

How do the prizes work for new payroll direct deposits?
If you’ve set up payroll direct deposits in December for the first time this year, you will also qualify for a chance at an extra $100 reward. To qualify, receive two payroll direct deposits of $1,000 or more each, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $100 prize. There are 100 prizes available, totaling $10,000 in rewards. These prizes will be paid directly into the winners’ Shakepay accounts in the first week of February, 2026.
Only new payroll direct deposits are eligible for this promotion. If you received a payroll direct deposit in 2025 before December 1st, you are not eligible for this additional $100 reward.
Are there any other conditions to receive my reward? Do I need to keep my money in Shakepay for a specific amount of time?
Nope, there are no additional conditions to enter the draw. You simply need to receive two eligible direct deposits in December 2025 and January 2026 to qualify.

Direct Deposit Bonus Draw
This offer is limited to one prize per person and is available only to customers who have not received any direct deposit into their Shakepay account in 2025 prior to the start of this promotion.
To qualify, customers must receive 2 payroll direct deposits of at least $1,000 each between December 1, 2025 and January 31, 2026.
Rewards are non-transferable and will be credited only to the Shakepay account associated with the eligible direct deposits.
Payment of rewards will be made during the first week of February 2026.
Auto-buy spread refund
New and existing customers may qualify for a refund of the spread on their first 3 auto-buys completed between December 1st, 2025 before January 31, 2026, provided the auto-buys were triggered by an eligible recurring direct deposit (such as payroll). Refunds will be credited during the first week of February 2026.
